The library was established in 1915 when the Sparta Council Board agreed to accept a $10,000 donation from the Carnegie Corporation.  Construction began on August 11, 1917, in November it was named The Carnegie Library, Sparta Michigan, and was dedicated in December.  Since that time, the library in Sparta has provided the community with services to meet their needs.  The staff of Sparta Carnegie Township Library strives to provide friendly home town service in person and through our website.  On our website you can access your account, find out what’s new at the library, get answers to reference questions, explore links to authoritative sites, search for information by using MeL Databases, download audio and e-books through Libby and Hoopla.  Thank you to all of our patrons and our community for your support.  Please contact the library to let us know how we can support you.
